The Union Home Ministry has issued orders sacking Indu Kumar Bhushan from the Indian Police Service (IPS) for making repeated allegations of corruption against senior colleagues.

An officer of the 1989 batch of IPS, Bhushan was accused of talking to the media accusing his colleagues of amassing wealth through illegal means.

He has also been accused of making controversial statements and indulging in "irresponsible behaviour" at public gatherings. He allegedly used foul language for his seniors at a meeting called by the Director General of Police.

This is first time in Rajasthan when an IPS officer has been compulsorily retired with the backing of the Union Home Ministry.

The order was issued by the Ministry of Personnel and Training after making the performance evaluation of IPS officers of Rajasthan in November 2017.

An order dated March 29 said that the Home Ministry had decided to retire Bhushan in public interest.
