PMK founder S. Ramadoss on Thursday urged leaders of all parties in Tamil Nadu to voice their opposition to the government's plan to reclassify roads to allow re-opening of liquor shops.
In a statement here, he said that as per Supreme Court's order, 3,321 liquor shops and bars located within 500 metres of state and national highways have been closed in the state but the Tamil Nadu government is planning to reclassify state highways into city roads so as to allow their reopening.
Ramadoss wrote a letter to all the political parties in the state asking them to voice their opposition to the state government's planned move and support his party on the issue.
