Spain and Real Madrid legend Raul Gonzalez has said that his country is favourite, just like Germany and hosts France, to win the Euro 2016 football title next summer.
In a statement to EFE, Raul said "possibilities in the Euro will be very open with the presence of great teams. I consider that Spain is playing in a group of high quality, and has to defend the title. I have confidence that things will go well."
The former Real Madrid captain added: "Among the rivals I think it will be Germany, which is the world champion; France, which is very strong and also plays at home. I think one of those three will be the champion, but surely there is a chance for some surprises, which happens in all championships."
Goalkeeper Iker Casillas, now playing for Portuguese club Porto, captained Spain to win 2008 and 2012 European championship.
