Re-polling at a booth in Meghalaya will be conducted on Thursday, Chief Electoral Officer Frederick Roy Kharkongor said on Wednesday.
The repolling at the Kyndong Tuber polling booth under Raliang assembly constituency was necessitated due to an error in the voting machine.
Meanwhile, over 84 per cent of the 18.9 lakh electors cast their votes on Tuesday in a peaceful manner to elect new members to the 60-member Meghalaya Assembly, said Kharkongor.
However, he said that the figures would increase after repolling at one booth and polling for the Williamnagar assembly seat which was countermanded following the death of Nationalist Congress Party candidate Jonathone Sangma in an IED blast on February 18.
"The voter's turnout has been robust and healthy with Williamnagar yet to vote. With sympathy wave there is hope for a high voter turnout in this constituency. Perhaps we may equal the turnout of 2013 polls," the election official told journalists.
The polling percentage in 2013 was 86.82.
