Real Madrid retained its place as top team in the European football governing body UEFA's rankings for club coefficients, while Spain's La Liga continues to lead the category for top domestic league.
Real Madrid came in first place among European teams after their recent 8-0 victory against Sweden's Malmo in the last round of the Champions League's group stage, and collected 161.057 points throughout the past five seasons, reports Efe.
German giants Bayern Munich came in second place with 152.064 points, followed by Champions League defending champions FC Barcelona in third place with 150.057 points, according to the list released by UEFA on Monday.
As for top-flight domestic European leagues, La Liga came in first place with a broad difference, ahead of the German Bundesliga, which was followed by the English Premier League and then Italian Serie A.
If the Premier League continues to keep third position, it will guarantee direct qualification for its top three teams at the end of each season to the group stage of the Champions League, as well as a place for the fourth top team in the competition's playoff.
