Real Madrid Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo confirmed on Saturday that he will return to training with his Spanish football club on August 10, so he will miss the UEFA Super Cup tie against Sevilla on August 9.
The Portuguese player, who is on a visit to his hometown Funchal, told reporters that the last season was the most important throughout his career, as he won the European championship title with his national team and the UEFA Champions League trophy with Real Madrid.
Ronaldo arrived in the Portuguese archipelago of Madeira on Friday to open his hotel 'Pestana CR7 Funchal,' reports Efe.
Before the opening ceremony, Miguel Albuquerque, chief of regional government of Madeira, announced that Funchal airport will be named after Ronaldo.
