Revenues of Spanish clubs grow by 12.3 percent in 2015

The revenues of Spanish football clubs in the first and second divisions reached 2,615.6 billion euros ($3,009.2 billion) during the 2014-15 season, an increase of 12.3 percent, of which 2,417.2 billion euros ($2,780.9 billion) were earned by first division clubs.

Revenues have been growing since the 2011-12 season, according to an economic report by the Spanish National Professional Football League, or La Liga, for 2015, which was presented on Wednesday at Madrid stock exchange, reports Efe.

Since the 2011-12 season, the income of Spanish clubs, excluding FC Barcelona and Real Madrid, has gone up by 26.1 percent.

Upon the presentation of the report, it was revealed that La Liga's proceeds are expected to exceed the Bundesliga for the 2016-17 season by 3.2 billion euros($3.6 billion).
