Brazilian players Agatha and Barbara beat Argentina's Ana Gallay and Georgina Klug 2-0 in beach volleyball action at the Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.
After a 21-11 first set on Monday, the Brazilian team kept the pressure on and took the second set 21-17 on the sands of Copacabana beach, reports EFE.
The Brazilian duo received massive support from the crowd, which easily stifled the noise made by hundreds of Argentine fans.
Barbara's offense was so good at times that the Argentine team could hardly do anything but watch the ball pass over the net.
Klug, who appeared less nervous than her teammate, Gallay, maintained her composure on both defense and on the attack, making some good shots, but not enough to prevent Agatha and Barbara from taking the first set.
In the second set, the Argentine duo was more focused. The Brazilian team, however, played better as a unit despite debuting this year at the Olympics.
