Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) legislator Saroj Yadav was arrested on Monday after he tried to stage a protest in front of district magistrate's office in Bhojpur, police said.
Yadav, a legislator from Badhara, was arrested on the order of Bhojpur District Magistrate Sanjeev Kumar for violating prohibitory orders that were in force in the area, police officer J.P. Singh said.
After his arrest, additional security personnel were deployed in Ara town to maintain law and order.
RJD leaders here said that Yadav was protesting peacefully in support of the people's demands.
