At least five people were killed Sunday in a rocket attack by rebels in Syria's Homs city.
Four civilians were killed and some injured when 'terrorists' fired rocket shells on Karm al-Shami district. Another civilian was killed in a similar attack in al-Zahra district, Xinhua reported.
In the capital city of Damascus, rebels fired a mortar shell at the Red Crescent Hospital , causing material damage. There was, however, no human casualty.
In a separate development, as many as 350 wanted suspects in recent attacks turned themselves in before authorities in Damascus countryside Sunday, a police source said.
The Syrian troops have been fighting rebels for nearly three years.
The international community is preparing for the holding of the Geneva II peace conference designed to seek a political solution to the nation's prevailing turmoil.
