A court Friday rejected an appeal of the Romanian president's younger brother, following which he will have to remain in custody for a month.
Bucharest's Court of Appeals rejected an appeal of President Traian Basescu's brother Mircea Basescu and ordered him to remain in custody up to 30 days, Xinhua reported.
The ruling is final for Basescu, who has been accused by the National Anti-corruption Directorate (DNA) of taking a bribe from the family of a crime boss who is facing a trial for murder attempt.
Mircea Basescu is in police custody since last Friday, following a decision made by the Bucharest Court, which ruled a 30-day preventive arrest term for him, upon the request of DNA prosecutors.
