Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP), a unit of the state-run Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL), Monday said it has registered its best ever April-July production performance in key areas in fiscal 2013-14.
During the period, the steel plant at Rourkela in Odisha produced 7,79,842 tonnes of hot metal, 7,32,901 tonnes of crude steel and 7,13,080 tonnes of saleable steel thereby scripting its best ever performance in these three vital areas for any April-July since its inception, the company said in a statement.
Apart from this, the production of hot rolled coil for sale touched highest figures of 3,17,409 tonnes since its inception while the plate mill plate production was recorded at an all-time high of 1,58,740 tonnes, it said.
RSP also made 46,450 tonnes of galvanised sheets registering a growth of 15.2 percent over the corresponding period last year, whereas the cold rolled non-oriented steel production was to the tune of 23,729 tonnes, a growth of 4.8 percent over the corresponding period of 2012-13, the steel maker said.
