A goal feast saw league leaders Mohun Bagan slump to their first loss of the 2015 I-League as host football club Royal Wahingdoh beat them 3-2 in a thrilling encounter at the Nehru Stadium here on Saturday.
Jackichand Singh, Trinidadian Densil Theobald, Thockchom Singh scored for Wahingdoh while Balwant Singh, later red carded, and Haitian Sony Norde found the net for the visitors.
It was Balwant who opened the scoring for the visitors as early as in the eighth minute as he placed it over an advancing goalie to give Mohun Bagan the lead.
Debjit Majumder, the custodian for the visitors, was once again brilliant in the first half as he thwarted away a couple of chances from the hosts.
After the breather, Jackichand equalised for Mohun Bagan as his right-footer for once got the better of Majumder. Sony struck in the 80th minute as he breezed into the box and then fired the ball into the net.
The visitors looked all set to take all three points home when Densil who struck gold for Wahingdoh after converting a penalty which was awarded following an incident where Balwant had handled the ball and was shown the red card.

A 90th minute screamer for Thockchom proved to be the winner as the ball thundered into the roof of the net.
Mohun Bagan tried to comeback but it was too little too late. They remain league leaders but the Wahingdoh have caught up, with only two points adrift.
