Rising Pune Supergiant (RPS) owner Sanjiv Goenka on Tuesday dismissed rumours of him having already bought stakes in Rajasthan Royals after the Indian Premier League officials made it clear that his side and Gujarat Lions will not get extensions for the 2018 season.

"What kind of a statement is that. The answer is 'no'," Goenka said replying to a question on similiar lines.

Asked if it's a possibility next season, Goenka, who co-owns Indian Super League (ISL) franchise Atletico de Kolkata (ATK), he said: "Maybe. You are trying to create a controversy here."

IPL chairman Rajeev Shukla had said before that Pune and Gujarat will have to go through a fresh bidding process in order to play IPL after this year.

Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals, who were banned in 2015 after serving a two-year suspension period for 2013 spot-fixing, will feature in 2018 edition of the IPL.
