The Border Security Force (BSF) seized a huge consignment of phensedyl valued Rs.19 lakh at the India-Bangladesh border in Tripura, a BSF official said Tuesday.
The consignment was seized from east Barjala area in Tripura Monday during a joint operation by police and BSF's 29 and 89 battalions on specific information.
"The raiding party recovered 22,900 bottles of phensedyl valued Rs.19 lakh from the house of one Sajal Sarkar, who has been arrested," BSF spokesperson Parashar told IANS.
"Phensedyl is a cough syrup that many people use for a high instead of alcohol," added Parashar.
