Biographical motorsports drama film Rush has been nominated for four British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) awards, including the Outstanding British Film category.

The film is based on the famous rivalry of former Formula 1 World Champions Niki Lauda and James Hunt during the 1976 Grand Prix season.

Daniel Bruhl, who portrayed Lauda on-screen, has been nominated for the Best Supporting Actor while the other nominations are for editing and sound.

The film, released in September, was directed by Oscar Award winning director Ron Howard and Chris Hemsworth portrayed Hunt.

The awards ceremony will take place at the Royal Opera House here Feb 16.
