Saina beats World Champion Ratchanok

India's badminton sensation Saina Nehwal beat reigning World Champion Ratchanok Intanon in the first singles of their Uber Cup Group C clash against Thailand at the Siri Fort Sports Complex here Tuesday.

The World No.8 beat the World No.4 Thai 22-20, 21-14 in 42 minutes in the first singles to give India a 1-0 lead in the tie.

India and Thailand have already qualified for the quarter-finals.
