His love for silk continues to mesmerise fashionistas and Samant Chauhan's "Silk Route" journey showcased at the ongoing fashion week magnificently reflected the designer's journey to route along Nepal, Tibet and China covered with wide and exotic landscape.
"This autumn Rajputana collection showcased my journey to places like Nepal, Tibet and China covered with wild and exotic landscape. My idea is to show how this group of fearless people with their sheer grit and courage manage to survive the harsh weather conditions and avert any hostile attacks," said the designer post his show at the ongoing Amazon India Fashion Week Autumn-Winter 2016.
There was a predominance of oriental influence in the collection as according to the designer, the journey of Rajputana culminates in Mongolia.
There were extravagant gowns shown on the runway with lot of Indian motifs and usage of Bhagalpuri and cotton silk on it, not to miss the accessories in the form of bags flaunted by few of the models who started the show.
"I used to do the accessories few years back and this time we brought them on runway," the designer told IANS.
Another highpoint of the show was hint of colours on few of the outfits, something that was not the designer's signature style.
Asked about that, Chauhan said: "It's not the buyers demand. We wanted to introduce and hint of colour. It's part of our exercise of what all we can experiment and how we can expand."
