South Korean electronics major Samsung Thursday unveiled Galaxy S5, its flagship Android phone, in India. Priced between Rs.51,000-Rs.53,000, it will be available in the market from April 11, a top company official said here.
"This smartphone is targeted at the working professionals with a hectic lifestyle and also at style-crazy people," Vineet Taneja, country head, IT and mobile division of Samsung India, told reporters on the sidelines of the launch.
He said the actual price of the phone will be announced April 11. The pre-booking for the product will start from March 29.
Talking about the price range of the phone, Taneja said the company will help customers finance it through affordable EMIs or buyback offers.
The company now has 3.5 crore users of Galaxy devices in India.
He said the phone is now 3G compatible but "when proper 4G network will be available in the country, we will be ready with the devices (4G compatible)."

In India, the Galaxy S5 will be available in four colours - black, white, blue and gold. The phone with 5.1 inch display is waterproof and dustproof. It comes with 16 megapixel rear camera and 2 megapixel front camera and has 21 hours talk time battery.
Along with Galaxy S5, the company also released wearable lines - Galaxy Gear 2, Galaxy Gear 2 Neo and Gear Fit.
Galaxy Gear 2 has been priced at Rs.21,900 while Gear 2 Neo and Gear Fit are priced at Rs.15,900.
