Rogerio Ceni and Paulo Henrique Ganso struck either side of halftime as Sao Paulo defeated Bahia 2-1 to remain in touching distance of Brazil's Serie A football championship leaders Cruzeiro.
Ceni scored with a free-kick into the top corner before Ganso fired in a low shot from outside the area at the Morumbi stadium Saturday, reports Xinhua.
Fahel pulled a goal back for the visitors two minutes from time by heading in a Guilherme Santos cross.
The result lifted Sao Paulo to within four points of league leaders Cruzeiro while Bahia dropped into the relegation zone, just one point above last-placed Coritiba.
