The central government on Monday informed that it has approved a plan to set up a satellite port project at Vadhavan near Dahanu in Maharashtra.
Minster of State (MoS) for Shipping Pon Radhakrishnan said a memorandum of understanding (MoU) has been already been signed between Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust (JNPT) and Maharashtra Maritime Board on June 5, 2015 for setting up the project.
"A techno-economic feasibility report has also been prepared by McKinsey & Co. in this regard," the minister informed the Rajya Sabha in a written reply.
