The government on Friday nominated veteran actor Satish Shah and noted film critic Bhawana Somaaya as members of the FTII society in the category of eminent persons connected with films.
Brijendra Pal Singh was appointed a member of the society in the category of alumni of FTII, an official release said.
In partial modification of the Information and Broadcasting Ministry's June 9 order and in continuation of the August 13 order, Satish Shah and Bhawana Somaaya have been nominated as members of the Film and Television Institute of India Society in the category of "persons of eminence connected with films and television education, journalism, literature, fine arts, dramatics, performing arts etc", the release added.
The nominations come days after FTII students called off their strike to protest the appointment of Gajendra Chauhan as the institute's chairman. Students, however, said their protest would continue.
