The Saudi Arabia-led military coalition launched airstrikes on Tuesday against several Houthi military positions in Sanaa, just hours before the five-day humanitarian cease-fire is set to begin at 11 p.m., Efe news agency reported.
According to several witnesses, the airstrikes targeted military barracks of the First Armoured Brigade and the military maintenance headquarters near al-Nahda district to the north of the Yemeni capital.
There were no reports of victims from the reported dozens of raids launched by the coalition warplanes.
Saudi Arabia proposed the five-day humanitarian ceasefire to coordinate and deliver aid to civilian populations in Yemen; the Houthis accepted the terms of non-violence on Sunday, and the truce will go into effect on Tuesday night.
