FC Schalke goalkeeper Ralf Faehrmann signed a contract extension until June 2019, the Bundesliga club said in an official statement.
The "Royal Blues" agreed to a four-year deal with Faehrmann Sunday, rewarding him for his performances during the current season, which helped the club earn a UEFA Champions League spot, reports Xinhua.
"We are very pleased that Ralf Faehrmann agreed on a long term commitment with Schalke. Despite his injury setbacks he always worked hard for his comeback. Ralf was a very important factor in our comeback at the second half of the season," Schalke sporting director Horst Heldt said.
The 25-year-old custodian has overall made 50 appearances for the "Royal Blues".
"I feel at home and I am extremely happy about the upcoming years at Schalke," Faehrmann said.
Schalke are currently in third place with a three-point advantage over fourth placed Bayer Leverkusen.
