A 22-year-old government school teacher was arrested here for allegedly raping a 15-year-old girl after promising to marry her, police said Friday.
"The accused has been arrested from his house at Nangloi area in west Delhi, on May 4, after the victim's parents approached the police," said a police officer, refusing to be identified on the grounds that he was close to the family and his name's disclosure could lead to the victim being identified.
The girl, a resident of Narela area, befriended the accused a year back at a marriage ceremony in Nangloi.
The victim told the police that he used to call her to his house and raped her several times, on the pretext of marriage. A few days back, she was informed that his marriage has been fixed somewhere else.
