A benchmark index of Indian equities markets Wednesday was trading 57.78 points or 0.21 percent as banking stocks gained.
Good buying was observed in banking and metal sectors, while selling pressure was seen in auto sector.
The 30-scrip Sensitive Index (Sensex) of the S&P Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), which opened at 27,358.30 points, was trading at 27,461.32 points (at 09.28 a.m.) in the early session, up 57.78 points or 0.21 percent from the previous day's close at 27,403.54 points.
The Sensex has touched a high of 27,463.79 points and a low of 27,346 points in the trade so far.
The S&P bankex increased by 85.99 points and metal index moved up by 82.32 points. However, auto index dropped by 113.49 points.
The wider 50-scrip Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) was also trading 24.50 points or 0.30 percent up at 8,272.75 points.
