Himachal Pradesh Governor Acharya Devvrat on Monday favoured setting up of advanced coaching centres across the state for the youth residing in rural and remote areas to avail the facility at their doorstep.
"The coaching centres would save efforts and resources which they spend when they have to go to cities outside the state," he said.
Speaking at the launch of digital library and Indian Administrative Service (IAS) academy of the A.P. Goyal Shimla University here, Devvrat urged the teachers to emerge as an inspiration to the students.
"The students follow the examples of teachers automatically as they are role models for them," he said and asked the teachers to make students aware about the core values of their culture and glorious history to instil a sense of patriotism and pride for the country.
Pro-Chancellor Ashwani Kumar said the university would soon start school of applied sciences, school of ayurveda, school of agriculture and school of bio-sciences.
Pro-Vice Chancellor B. Ramaswamy, who is head of the IAS academy, said the university was the first in the state to launch the academy that would provide technical and professional excellence in competitive studies.
