Dozens of people went missing on Friday as a passenger boat capsized in the Ravi river in Pakistan's Punjab province, officials said.
The boat was carrying more than 70 people when it capsized in the river near Said Wala area in Nankana Sahib, Geo News reported.
Rescue officials said no passenger has been found yet. However, there were conflicting reports regarding casualties with some even saying that as many as 50 people, including women and children, have drowned.
A survivor said the boat which was travelling from Syedwala to Jindraka village, overturned after hitting a piece of a broken bridge floating in the river.
He said the overloaded boat was also carrying dozens of motorbikes, cattle and other cargo.
The rescue workers said they were facing hindrance in the the search operation due to darkness.
