Robert Herjavec, founder and CEO of cybersecurity firm Herjavec Group and a star of TV show "Shark Tank", says it is important to have a thick skin and be adaptable to succeed in the business world.

"The most important tip to be successful -- two things, have a thick skin and be adaptable. The world will not be won by the strong, it will not be won by the weak, it will not be won by the righteous, it can be won by those that can adapt," Herjavec said in a statement.

"Shark Tank", which is aired in India on Colors Infinity, gives a platform to aspiring entrepreneurs from around the world to pitch their business models to a panel of investors and persuade them to invest money in their idea.

Talking about the show, he said: "'Shark Tank' is like New York. If you can make it here, you can make it anywhere."

According to Herjavec, the reason he invests in a pitch is always about the entrepreneur.

"Always bet on the jockey, not the horse," he said.
