In a jibe at the Modi government, BJP MP Shatrughan Sinha on Monday said governments come and go as per the wish of people, and the day people see promises made to them turning into 'jumlas' (gimmicks), they would announce their decision.

Sinha was speaking at Narsinghpur where he went to extend support to senior BJP leader and former Union Minister Yashwant Sinha who has been on a sit-in in front of the district office to demand withdrawal of cases against farmers and to protect the interest of displaced farmers.

Serious cases have been lodged against the displaced farmers after they revolted when promises made to them were not fulfilled. Their lands have been acquired for the setting up of a power facility of NTPC.

While Yashwant Sinha ended his five-day demonstration at Narsinghpur on Monday, Kisan Mazdoor Sangh is continuing the protest at Gadarwara. Labour union leader Shiv Kumar Sharma said the cases against farmers have started being taken back.

Sharma said the displaced farmers want permanent jobs and not contractual jobs at the plant. The protesting farmers would hold a demonstration in Delhi on February 23 where Yashwant Sinha would also join.
