Southampton defender Luke Shaw has signed a new five-year deal with the English club on his 18th birthday.
Southampton, on its website, confirmed that the youngster will continue to be at the club as he has been since the age of eight.
"This news merely confirms what we have known for some time that Luke sees Southampton as the best place for him to develop," Southampton manager Mauricio Pochettino said on the club's official website.
This also ends the speculation over his future and Shaw will now look to maintain his progress at the club. He made his first league appearance for the 'Saints' last November and has been a regular since then with 29 senior appearances.
"I've been here since I was eight and I've loved every single moment of it. I want to stay at this club, and signing this contract means I'm here for another five years," Shaw said.
