Shimla, popularly known as the Queen of Hills, got 65 mm of rains on Sunday. The weather bureau said there were chances of heavy rainfall across the state till Monday.
"Most areas in the state experienced moderate to heavy rain," an official of the meteorological office here told IANS.
He said there was no appreciable change in the minimum and maximum temperatures.
Most prominent tourist destinations like Dharamsala, Palampur, Kasauli, Kufri, Narkanda, Chamba and Dalhousie witnessed rainfall, bringing down the temperatures to comfortable levels.
Shimla, a favourite retreat for tourists during summer, recorded a low of 15.5 degrees Celsius. It was 15.4 degrees in Manali and 16.4 degrees Celsius in Dharamsala, which saw 33 mm of rain.
"There are chances of heavy spells of rain in the state till Monday. Thereafter, the monsoon will remain subdued for two days," he added.

Mandi town got 21.5 mm of rain while Nahan and Sundernagar towns recorded 19.3 mm and 14.3 mm rains respectively.
