Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan Friday congratulated his Gujarat counterpart Narendra Modi on being named the Bharatiya Janata Party's prime ministerial candidate for 2014.
"I congratulate Shri @narendramodi on being nominated as party's PM candidate. His dynamic leadership would ensure astounding victory for us," tweeted Chouhan, who at one time was being propped up by BJP leader L.K. Advani for transforming his poor state.
"The leadership of Shri @narendramodi shall take India to great heights which this nation and our citizens deserve," posted Chouhan.
In June, Advani had lavished praise on Chouhan for having transformed a poor state into a healthy one, while he said Modi did not have to struggle much with an economically well-off Gujarat.
Chouhan had last week clarified that he has no objections to Modi being named the PM candidate.
