Percept Pictures, an integrated content creation, aggregation and distribution company, has released a short musical film "Just Begun" -- which touches upon LGBTQ issue while spreading the message of love -- as a tribute to the victims of the Orlando mass shooting.

The over two-minute long film was launched on Tuesday. Along with the film's release, Percept Pictures also unveiled its new YouTube channel Indian Chronicles. The film is available on the channel, read a statement.

Danyush Mamik, Chief Operating Officer at Percept Pictures, shared that they picked the issue of LGBTQ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer) as a "medium to spread across the bigger message of love".

"We have depicted the story via two girls; this could have been any two human beings and still the message would have been that of love. Also, we wanted to enable youngsters to be able to speak their minds. The entire cast and crew is under 30 years of age," Mamik told IANS.

A Percept Pictures production, "Just Begun" is directed by Himalaya Rathod with Shynee Narang, 23, and Prashashti Suvarna, 22, as the lead. Mamik is creative director of the film.

Why LGBTQ? Mamik says they wanted to honour the victims of the Orlando mass shooting. In last month's shooting massacre in the US, 49 people were killed by a gunman at gay nightclub Pulse.

Mamik said: "We were actually quite affected by the shootings in Orlando and wanted to in someway show our support and try to pay a small tribute as well. That's when the idea of doing a video came to our heads."

"The beauty of this project for me personally is the fact that all the cast and crew is so young, the music director is barely 20, the director is 28, the actors and main technicians are all under 24," Mamik added.

The message that the film imparts is -- "it doesn't matter who you are or what your choices are, as long as there is love, then no one should have a right to judge".

Talking about the new channel on the digital platform, Mamik said: "The channel will have one sole purpose and that is to give the youngsters a chance to express themselves. The content of the channel will be real, raw and topical."

He asserted that the "content of the channel will be three fold, one cause related films, two topical real stories and lastly, if there is any person anywhere in India who has a certain talent, he/she can use our platform to showcase their talent."
