Six persons, among them three women, have been arrested on the charge of kidnapping a 14-year-old girl who was sold and sexually assaulted repeatedly before her rescue, the Delhi Police said on Thursday.
Accused Satvir, Mukesh Thakur, Krishan Kumar, Kavita, Jyoti and Mamta were arrested on Tuesday during raids in Hisar in Haryana and Uttar Pradesh. Two accused, including Jyoti's husband Pradeep, are missing and on the run.
On August 28, 2016, the girl's parents filed a missing complaint at New Ashok Nagar police station after she failed to return from her school in east Delhi.
"The girl was kidnapped by Jyoti and her husband Pradeep and held captive at an unidentified place in Noida before she was shifted to Kanpur in Uttar Pradesh. She was later sold by Pradeep to Krishan in Hisar," Joint Commissioner of Police Ravindra Yadav said.
"Krishan assaulted and raped her many times and later sold her to Satvir, who along with Mukesh forced her into prostitution," he said.
