Six persons involved in highway robberies were arrested in south Delhi on Friday, police said.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Ishwar Singh said the gang had tried to commandeer a truck loaded with copper worth Rs 40 lakh near Rangpuri in south Delhi late Saturday.
Rishi Kumar, 30, Rohit, 24, Sonu Sisodia, 28, Saleem, 26, Rakesh Kumar, 24, and Dharam Singh, 35 -- all residents of Delhi and school dropouts -- were arrested from Ruchi Vihar area.
A car, one countrymade pistol and rope used to tie their victims were seized from them.
The gang was also involved in at least two such robberies in the past in the National Capital Region.

"We're exploring whether they have involvement in other cases," he added.
The officer said the gang members riding a Swift Dzire car had intercepted the truck and abducted its driver and cleaner. However, another truck driver sounded an alarm on witnessing the commotion, forcing the gang too flee after leaving the truck behind.
"The driver and the cleaner were beaten up and dumped at an isolated place," the DCP said.
