Six people were killed and three critically injured in a road accident on national highway-24 in Ghaziabad on Monday, police said.
A speeding SUV rammed into two motorcycles, jumped the road divider and hit another vehicle coming from the opposite direction at 1 p.m. near Jindal Nagar.
Police said the SUV hit the motorcycles from behind at a speed of about 150 km per hour.
Three people on the motorcycles, and three in the SUV were killed. They were identified as Titu Singh, Sunita, Bhopal, Shakshi, Mayank and Rohit.
Local people rushed to rescue the injured and took them to hospitals situated along the highway.
The bodies have been kept for identification by family members and a case has been registered against the SUV driver, said Superintendent of Police (Rural) R.K. Pandey.
