A day after a small time builder was shot dead in the national capital and five people arrested, police said the sixth accused had been identified and would be arrested soon.

"The absconding sixth accused has been identified and will be arrested soon," police sources said.

Raju Ramakant Rao died after being shot by the assailants who were driving an SUV at around 2 a.m. in south Delhi's Greater Kailash area on Sunday.

In connection with Rao's murder, police have already arrested 37-year-old gangster Deepak Gautam aka Pandit, and four members of his gang -- Kapil Panwar (21), Shanker (28), Shan Mohammad aka Shanu (23) and Birender aka Bindu (34).

According to police, Gautam was wanted in many cases of murder and attempt to murder in the city.

During interrogation, it emerged that a rivalry existed between the two groups - one headed by Deepak Pandit and the other by Rao. Both of them were involved in several businesses, including property dealings.

"This incident took place as a consequence of long-standing rivalry. All the accused arrested in this case are notorious criminals," he added.
