A soldier, accused of killing his mother, wife and daughter, was Tuesday acquitted by a court here.
Rajesh Yadav, 28, was arrested for allegedly killing his mother Suresh Kumari, 48, wife Sharmila, 26, and daughter Nidhi, two and a half, on July 24, 2012.
The court of Additional District Judge (ADJ) Ajay Parashar, however, acquitted him of all the charges. There were more than 20 witnesses in the case and all of them turned hostile in the court.
Yadav's family lived alone in the fields near Bhorakalan village. Police said the accused had arrived on a month's leave around 20 days before the three women were found dead - his mother and wife hanging from the door-frame and daughter strangulated.
The reasons behind the deaths were not known immediately.
