A two-day festival showcasing South Koreas art, culture and heritage started on Saturday at the Ambience mall here.
Inaugurated by Korea Tourism Organisation (KTO) Executive Vice President Min Hong Min and Suman Billa, Joint Secretary in Indian Tourism Ministry, the festival displayed food counters managed by Korea Agro Fisheries and Food Trade Cooperation to give a taste of the local Korean flavours besides other attractions like face mask painting, Hangeul calligraphy and video gallery exhibiting Korean history and cultural assets.
Also, the K- Beauty zone by famous Korean beauty brand Innisfree offered free make up sessions and samples to the visitors. A special virtual reality zone and photo-op booth have been created for the visitors to get themselves clicked wearing Korean traditional Hanbok dress with customized background.
In his speech at the inauguration, Min said the event has been organsied by the KTO for Indians to experience Korea's traditional and modern culture.
"I hope this two-day event will help Indian people understand and feel Korean ethnicity. We hope that Indian audience enjoy the experiential activities and Korean performances at the festival," he said.
The India office of the KTO was set up in New Delhi in May 2008 to promote Korea as a travel destination among Indians.
