Spain win European basketball championship

Spain lifted its third title in the last four European basketball championships after beating Lithuania 80-63 on Sunday.

Pau Gasol finished with 25 points, 12 rebounds, four assists, three blocked shots, one steal and no turnovers to earn the tournament's Most Valuable Player award, Xinhua news agency reported.

Spain opened with a 13-point lead and met few challenges throughout the match.

Earlier, France pulled away in the third quarter to beat Serbia 81-68 for the bronze medal.
