Newcastle United on Wednesday announced the signing of Stoke City forward Joselu for the next three football seasons for 5.5 million euros ($6.4 million).
The 27-year-old Spaniard, a former player of Real Madrid and Celta Vigo, was on loan at Deportivo La Coruña last season, reports Efe.
"I feel very happy because I have signed for a very big club. I'm very happy to be part of this club, and so excited," Joselu said, according to Newcastle's official website.
The Spanish forward said he was "looking forward to getting to know" his teammates, the English city, the training ground, the stadium and all supporters of the English Premier League (EPL) side.
"We have known Joselu since his days at the Real Madrid academy, and we know that he has the potential to do well for us," Newcastle coach Rafa Benitez said.
The Spanish coach added that Joselu "obviously" has experience in English soccer and the EPL.
