Six persons sleeping by the roadside were mowed down by a speeding truck in Uttar Pradesh's Ballia district early on Saturday, police said.
An officer told IANS that the incident took place near the Sukhpura Chauraha when the truck, filled with empty gas cylinders, lost control at a high speed and rammed into a Bolero coming from the opposite side and then crashed into the pavement and a shop.
The bodies have been sent for post-mortem, but are yet to be identified.
