Tottenham Hotspur coach Mauricio Pochettino said that defender Toby Alderweireld is to be sidelined until February after suffering a hamstring injury.
Alderweireld, 28, has not appeared in any matches with his side since November 1, when the English club defeated Real Madrid 3-1 in the UEFA Champions League group stage, reports Efe.
"We cannot change the reality. The reality is that he is injured and cannot play until February," the Argentine coach said at a press conference.
Spurs have won only three of their last eight matches since the Belgian international was hurt and two of those victories were in Champions League play.
Tottenham is set to play 10 matches in all competitions from now until February, including duels against Premier League leaders Manchester City and second-place Manchester United.
