The Kerala Cricket Association (KCA) Saturday said that N. Srinivasan should not officiate as the BCCI president till the inquiry into the Indian Premier League (IPL) spot fixing scandal gets over.
"He (Srinivasan) can either take leave or hand over charge to a vice-president because his son-in-law has been arrested in the case," KCA secretary T.C. Mathew told IANS, adding that this would ensure an impartial inquiry.
Mathew added that this year Kerala does not have its representative in the Board of Control for Cricket in India working committee, therefore, no one from the KCA will participate in the emergency meeting to be held in Chennai Sunday to discuss this issue.
It is through a policy of rotation that a representative of the state cricket body gets into the 31-member BCCI working committee.
Srinivasan's son-in-law Gurunath Meiyappan was arrested last week for his alleged role in betting during the IPL matches, making it one of the most high-profile arrests in the case till date.
