"Straight Outta Compton" and "Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation" were again the No.1 and No.2 movies in North America this weekend, as two new releases opened behind them.

"Straight Outta Compton" fell 56 percent in its second weekend but still topped the box office charts with $26.8 million, Xinhua cited the studio estimates gathered by Rentrak, which marked the 13th weekend box office winner for Universal films.

"Straight Outta Compton," an airbrushed version of West Coast Rap's emergence, grossed $111.5 million in two weeks. Universal added 268 locations to the hit biopic's 2,757 venues, for a total of 3,025.

The "Mission: Impossible" redux was predicted to rake in $11.7 million in its fourth weekend of exhibition, dropping 32 percent.

Focus' "Sinister 2" debuted in the third place with an estimated $10.6 million. The horror sequel, about possessed kids who murder their families, was on 2,766 screens. It received a "B-" rating from first-night moviegoers on CinemaScore. Critics gave it a poor 12 percent approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

Rounding out the rest of 10 most popular films this weekend in the US and Canada were "Man From U.N.C.L.E." ($7.4 million), "American Ultra" ($5.5 million), "The Gift" ($4.3 million), "Ant-Man" ($4 million), "Minions" ($3.7 million) and "Fantastic Four" ($3.7 million).
