Delhi was hot and humid Tuesday with the maximum temperature at 35.6 degrees Celsius, a notch above average, even as the sky remained partly cloudy.
Rain is expected in the national capital Wednesday, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said.
"The sky will be partly cloudy Wednesday morning, becoming fully cloudy later in the day. Rain is expected in some areas," an IMD official said.
Minimum temperature early Tuesday settled three notches above average at 26.3 degrees Celsius.
The humidity touched a maximum of 92 percent and a minimum of 57 percent. However, no rainfall was recorded.
Monday's maximum temperature settled a notch above the season's average at 35 degrees Celsius.
