The city experienced a nippy morning Monday as a blanket of light mist enveloped the city. The Met Office has forecast a sunny day in store.
"The skies will remain clear and the afternoon will be sunny, though light fog will return late evening," said an official of the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
The day's minimum temperature settled five notches above the season's average while the maximum is expected to hover around 18 degrees Celsius.
While the fog cover in Delhi has thinned over the past couple of days allowing for smooth air operations, several trains continued to be affected because of heavy backlog and dense fog in other parts of north India.
"Around three dozen trains coming to Delhi are running late due to backlog or fog in other parts," said an official of the Northern Railway.
Similar weather conditions prevailed in the city Sunday and the maximum temperature settled four degrees below the season's average at 17.4 degrees, while the minimum was four degrees above the average at 12 degrees.
