Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu on Wednesday inaugurated a new train service via video conferencing from Danapur to Saharsa in Bihar.
The new train will cover a distance of 241 kilometre in six hours five minutes.
Prabhu said that the new train will improve the socio-economic conditions of the region.
"Railways aims at connecting all citizens of the country with one another through extension and commissioning of new lines. The new train service in these areas will improve socio-economic condition of the people of Bihar for which they are entitled to," the minister said.
Apart from flagging off the new train, services on three other lines in Bihar were also extended.
The services of Jaynagar-Saharsa Janki Express was extended up to Katihar, Patna-Murliganj Koshi Express up to Purnea Court and Jasidih-Chandan passenger train up to Banka.

Minister of State for Railway Manoj Sinha, who was also present on the occasion, said that the new services would provide better connectivity to Bihar.
