Kenyan security officers on Sunday removed suspected explosives from an Air France flight after it made an emergency landing in Mombasa over a bomb scare.
The airliner, heading for Paris from Mauritius, had requested an emergency landing when a device suspected to be a bomb was discovered, Xinhau quoted police spokesman Charles Owino as saying.
The plane made an emergency landing at Moi International Airport at the request of the pilots, Owino said.
He said the airliner had 459 passengers and 14 crew members aboard.
Owino said all passengers were safely evacuated.
Top aviation and security officers have rushed to Mombasa for further investigation, said officials.
